European Adventures: Luxembourg and France

Luxembourg

Fun fact Bloggie, people from #Luxembourg are called Luxembourgers!

If you're ever in Europe and can fly Lux Air, do it! We were offered great burgers and champagne inflight. Another plus, the tickets weren't too costly and we didn't have to pay extra for our suitcases. So basically, all pluses.

"By the time we landed in Luxembourg, it was evening. Here, we didn’t have to worry about navigating the country/planning an itinerary as we were staying with T’s friend, Pat. She met us at the airport and let us know we would be going to dinner with some of her friends. So, we went to her place and dropped off our luggage to start the fun. And when she asked if we would rather walk or take a cab, who said yes to walking? This ignorant girl! Chai! On the plus side, we got to see intimate parts of the country so it was worth the complaining that followed. We went to a nice Pub-like restaurant and had wings, burger and fondue (yum). I can now say I had a Luxembourger burger ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. We had such a lovely time, and were there until the restaurant closed (or maybe a little longer…oops). Thankfully, we took a cab home and wasted no time crashing."

Day 6:
By the time we finally came to in the morning, Pat had gone on a morning run and even gotten us breakfast pastries๐Ÿ™ˆ. The freedom of not having to run anywhere made us relax a lot.
While we were eating breakfast, we decided to give the show Poldark a try. We weren't expecting to be pulled in but my love for Aidan Turner was born. We were so engrossed that, we had to really ginger ourselves to leave home. Poldark is soooo good! You won’t regret watching.
Our first stop was tea and Pat showed us a neat way to change up ginger tea; fresh mint leaves. I'll be trying it after we return. We did a brief walking history tour and even got to see a cannon from the war. We then toured the country via the cutest tour bus ever. Their senior living quarters is super neat and for some reason, I think that’s important to share.
Pat suggested we go get dinner in Metz, France and we agreed. We took the train there and had enough time to walk around and sightsee a little before dinnertime. Unfortunately, the restaurant Pat wanted us to go to was closed so we walked around a little in search of an open restaurant and we also asked Yelp. I made the restaurant choice for us and they both let me know I would be held responsible if the food wasn’t good. I hoped for the best and I’m happy to announce… they didn’t kpai me! We were on a time crunch to get the train back to Lux so Pat asked our waitress to please help us get our food out quickly and our waitress was so kind and attentive ๐Ÿ˜Š. All our meals were great. Phew!
We caught the train back and just chilled out until sleep took over.

Day 7:
T and I woke up long enough to say bye to Pat as she headed to work. We were heading to Germany later in the afternoon. Pat nicely suggested we go to lunch with her before heading to the airport.
We spent the morning repacking our stuff in preparation for travel and when it was time for lunch, we walked to Pat’s office (we didn’t get lost!) and met her there. We ate some good lunch with a highlight of very yummy escargot. After lunch, we finally got gelato!! Ahh… the joy! Pat had to go back to the office and we had to head to the airport . She very nicely called us a cab which would get to her place about the same time we would.
All was going well until our travel behaviour reared its head. We continued walking and suddenly realized, the trek was taking longer and our environment was no longer familiar. We turned around and confusion set in. It took us a couple turns and walking around to realize our problem was missing a slight turn. I guess we couldn’t leave Lux without mini drama. Sigh. By the time we got home, the cab driver was just getting ready to leave. Thank God he waited. We made it to the airport without any additional drama. Here we come Oktoberfest!

Ending Note: Luxembourg is a really nice and quaint country with low rates of bad things.
Let me take you back in time with Joe's "Ghetto Child" ft. Shaggy. This song was T's repeat in secondary school :)

Have a lovely week!
